Pineapple is a healthy fruit that is sweet, tart and tangy,
it is similar to watermelon and strawberries, and it is healthy for dogs, but
in moderation.
THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE SERVING YOUR DOG PINEAPPLE
There are lots of nutritious value that can be found in
pineapple, especially in ripe, raw pineapple which contains vitamin C, thiamine,
riboflavin, vitamin B6, niacin and folate. There are also lots of minerals that
can be found in pineapple such;

This is a very rich form of snacking for both humans and dogs and can improve your pet’s immune system and digestive system.
However, it is not a good idea to feed your dog canned and dried pineapple because it contains added sugar and have high calories that your dog does not need.
Pineapples do have high fiber, but should be given to your dog in small
quantities, as too much of it can cause digestive problems, diarrhea and
constipation.
As much as sweet pineapple could be, it could trigger
diabetes in dogs, due to high rate of sugar in it, especially if canned and
dried. That is why you should feed your dog little quantity.

HOW TO PREPARE PINEAPPLE FOR YOUR DOG.
Follow these guidelines to safely feed your pet pineapple.
Talk to your veterinarian first;
Consider talking to your veterinarian before giving
your pet pineapple, to know if it is healthy to give it to your dog or not. It
is not advisable to give this to a dog with already high calories or fat.
Carefully Peel it;
Carefully peel and core the pineapple and do not dispose the
peels where your dog can easily access it.
Slice it;
Slice the pineapple into smaller sizes for the large dogs.
Administer one slice first;
If it happens to be the first time you are feeding your dog
pineapple, administer just one slice (bite) for a start, and wait for an hour
to see how their body reacts to it.
